Petfinder.com

http://www.petfinder.com/

If you are looking for a animal companion, but you do not want to contribute to pet shops or puppy mills - there is a great website out there called PetFinder that has all kinds of great animal companions for adoption. The site helps animals and animal lovers find each other in every state, from all walks of life.

The first thing to do is go to www.petfinder.com Pet Finder helps find animals homes that are in clinics, pounds, adoption centers, and animal rehabilitation centers. They have all kinds of great animals on the site from puppies to older faithful friends.

While on the site, you will notice that there is a great search tool on the left hand side of the screen to help you find the animal, breed, age, size, gender, and even the location (down to zip code) of your soon to be animal companion. You can also look up animal welfare groups if you are interested in helping animals or adopting an animal.

You can also look at the toolbar across the top of the site of Pet Finder to help you search animal shelters and locally.

Once you enter in your animal search criteria, the site will return a bunch of matching criteria that will show the animals picture, their name, their breed, gender and size, and will also give you a link to the organization that has the animal. You can even click on the animals picture to learn more about them.

Once you have found the animal that you are interested in adopting, you can fill out adoption papers right online, or contact the organization that has the animal. The organization will then call you and work with you to meet the animal and start the adoption process.

Basically after you do this, you will become an angel to the animal that you adopt and hopefully you will provide them with a loving home!

You can also use this site to help you find shelters or foster organizations if you want to volunteer and help out!

Pets need Insurance too!

You want the best health coverage for your family right? Since pets are part of your family they deserve to be covered with insurance to protect their health and well-being as well. Pet insurance is excellent for covering vet bills and really makes paying for vet care a lot easier. Here is how you can get pet insurance.

The most important reason for getting pet insurance is to help cover high cost vet bills. Even a simple operation can cost a lot of money, and you want to make sure that you can provide the medical care needed for your pet. Some pet insurance policies even help to cover the costs of annual exams, heartworm protection, lab fees, hospitalization, spay and neutering, surgeries, vaccinations, x-rays, and teeth cleaning! It is definitely worth it to have Pet Insurance to help cover the costs of a pet injury, illness or accident.

Pet insurance providers are actually pretty easy to find these days. Pet insurance is sold by many insurance companies, banks, and even supermarkets, like Kroger. I recommend that you fist call the insurance company you have now check to see if they offer anything for your pets. If not, do a Google search for Pet Insurance and take a look at the different options that come up. If you have a Kroger near by, stop in and ask to talk to their finance department about Pet Insurance. You can probably also stop by a PetsMart or PetCo and ask them about Pet Insurance providers as well!

When looking for pet insurance, it is important to keep in mind a number of things. Here are some of the most common questions to ask pet insurance providers: Does the insurer limit the amount of money they pay per illness? It is best to look for a policy that limits the amount they will pay out each year, as opposed to per illness. These companies will at least pay out for the lifetime of your pet's condition.

Does the insurer charge extra for your breed? If you have a breed that is prone to illness, some insurance policies will charge more because it costs more to treat them. So try to find a pet insurance company that doesn't charge extra for certain breed types.

Does the pet insurance company offer third-party injury? This is an important part of a pet insurance policy as it would cover you if someone got hurt or harmed by your pet.

Will the pet insurance company cover an older animal? Some pet insurance companies won't insure animals over a certain age.

How often do premiums go up? Find out if the pet insurance policy is likely to increase every year.

Does the company offer a "Family" plan to help cover multiple pets under one policy? There are insurance providers that offer multi-pet households additional savings with a family plan. Ask how many pets you can cover under this plan.

Are you limited to a certain network or veterinarians? Check to see if you have to use a vet that is part of the insurance policies network, or if you can use any vet nationwide under your coverage.

What else is covered? Aside from vets' bills and third party injury, pet insurance policies may cover a number of other things that you might want to consider when making your selection. Do they help with finding lost or stolen animals, do they help with the cost of kenneling an animal if needed?

Red Wings Horse Sanctuary

Red Wings Horse Sanctuary

If you are passionate about helping horses in need, please visit this site and help sponsor or donate to their cause. The mission of Redwings Horse Sanctuary is to eliminate the causes of equine suffering through education and community outreach programs, rescue abused and neglected equines, and provide permanent sanctuary or selected foster homes for those equines.

Unfortunately these proud and magestic animals are often abused and neglected, killed for insurance reasons, and even sold to meat companies simply because they are not making a profit for their owners. These practices should not be tolerated, and your help to spread community awareness, education, and support for the Red Wings Horse Sanctuary is greatly appreciated!

Check out the sponsorship programs they have available or donate today!
